Professional Biography

The Interesting Bits:
I was born in the rugged Rocky Mountains and grew up in a quiet suburb of Baltimore. These tranquil roots constituted an impetus to travel to big cities like London, Boston, San Francisco, Seattle and Los Angeles. After working in London and earning an M.A. at Emerson, I realized that college is just a primer for the real world. Thankfully, life has a way of revealing the right path... if you just slow down long enough to watch and listen. That's exactly what I do as an artist: I observe and make art of the "everyday." There is beauty everywhere. Take a look at my macro photography for examples.

Chasing Mercury Explained:
The name "Chasing Mercury" is derived from a poem I wrote in 2000. At the time, my life was in flux. I realized then that I was a man who was blindly racing through life without slowing down long enough to read the signs. I'm no longer he. "Chasing Mercury" is a testament to that fact.
